Job Description

This position assists in the administration of the School of Arts & Humanities; performs faculty observations, prepares the operating budget and participates in strategic planning activities. This position also manages professional development, planning, participates in staff recruitment activities and promotes student engagement.

List of Essential Activities

1. Exercises department leadership in program development and maintenance
2. Organizes, develops, evaluates, implements and monitors instructional programs and assessment activities
3. Assists with the supervision and evaluation of staff as well as faculty observations, provides recommendations to support hiring, retention and separation decision impacting employees
4. Participates in processes related to obtaining grants and budget committee planning; works with outside contacts in the implementation of articulation agreements
5. Develops and implements class/faculty schedules, student advising schedules and office hours
6. Manages and responds to student concerns and issues within the School
7. Prepares reports and maintains standards related to the accreditation process
8. Teaches up to 6 credits/year
9. Related projects, initiatives and duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

1. Master’s Degree in an academic discipline related to the School (Arts, English, History, Performing Arts, Philosophy, Graphic Arts)
2. Three years’ post-secondary teaching experience
3. Four years’ academic administration experience

Preferred Qualifications

1. Doctorate Degree
2. Four years’ college teaching experience at a Community College.

Salary $63,750 - $85,000 annually
